Catch Up Post

The last week or so hasn't be extremely busy or overwhelming.  Actually, very relaxing and alot of time to grow as a family and in Christ.  I am really not sure why the blogging has been at such a slow pace. Let's see what has been going on the last week or so:
1.  I took a true Sabbath rest last week and had the most glorious day.  Scott and Dean were on their own while I travelled to Lake Lurleen. A wonderful day with no technology, no connections to anyone or anything except for God.  It took a while to "unplug" but once I did, God was there! I am already longing to go back.
2.  Dean is still running and "thinning" up quickly.  He is becoming quite the social butterfly which is definitely new for us.
3. I still seem to be feeling better with the gluten free diet.  Foods are so much richer now, it is quite interesting.  My bones in my fingers still hurt, my wrists are still sore, but the muscle pains are still gone, for the moment.  If history proves anything, I guess I am waiting for pain to start back.  Trying to be optimistic.
4.  Scott has joined a leadership network for pastors.  It is so exciting to see him learning and growing!  The group of pastors are from all over the country, he is loving every minute of it.
5. We had a great weekend visit with Ariel.  It is hard to believe she will be 19 on Friday.  I still have a hard time wrapping my brain around where my little girl went.
6. We have hired a math tutor for Dean, which starts tonight.  He just has absolutely no desire for this class, at all.  He doesn't see the point and how can you argue? - I mean how often do I really use (a+b)(d+c)2 = x? figure for x?  And if I did, I would just google the answer and move on. Anyway, his passion is science and history. He loves those classes!  But we are praying the tutor helps him Learn the math, not just memorize it.
7.  And there is a little excitement in our house...Dean is headed for a beach trip on Thursday, Ariel is in Auburn, which means Scott and I get 4 whole date days/nights!  Yippee!  I LOVE fall break!  Thanks Jeff and Danielle for the youth trip! And my date weekend!
